Balboa Applications Update – Touch Panel 3 vs Touch Panel 4

We are pleased to share the latest update on Balboa apps for Wi-Fi control in our hot tubs . Below, we detail the key differences between Touch Panel 3 and Touch Panel 4, as well as the fees associated with Cloud mode:

1. Available applications

The two main applications for Wi-Fi control of our hot tubs are:

• BWA (Balboa Worldwide App)
• Control My Spa

2. Spas with Touch Panel 3 + WiFi module

Spas equipped with the Touch Panel 3 and WiFi module are compatible with the BWA app (Balboa Worldwide App). This app offers two connection modes:

• Local Mode (Direct/Local): Direct connection within the same Wi-Fi network. Free service.
• Cloud Mode: Allows remote control of the spa from any location via the internet.

Until now, the BWA Cloud service has been free of charge. However, from now on it will operate under a paid subscription model.

Transition period and free trials

In order to ensure a gradual transition and recognize user loyalty, a system of free trial periods has been established based on the user’s previous time using the app:

• Users with 12 months or more of use: 1 free month
• Users with 9 to 11 months of use: 3 free months
• Users with 4 to 8 months of use: 6 free months
• New users or users with 1 to 3 months of use: 12 free months

Once the trial period has ended, an active subscription will be required to continue using Cloud Mode.

3. Spas with Touch Panel 4 (integrated WiFi as standard)

hot tubs with Touch Panel 4 work with the Control My Spa app, which is currently free.

From 2026 onwards, all hot tubs manufactured will come standard with Touch Panel 4, and this will be the only compatible application. hot tubs manufactured before 2026 will continue to use Touch Panel 3.
