Finn Lough
a spa in the forest, facing Lough Erne
A round spa set flush into the deck, among the trees and facing the lake: this is how wellness fits into a resort where the landscape takes centre stage.

pure and unadorned
When integration is real, it stops standing out and starts belonging to the place.
Finn Lough is a resort tucked into native woodland on the shores of Lough Erne, in County Fermanagh. Everything revolves around nature: transparent bubble domes, lakeside suites and villas, and a spa trail that alternates heat and cold between cabins scattered through the forest.
In that setting, the spa could not look like an add-on. It was sunk into a large timber deck, flush with the ground, so the water sits at eye level and the lake fills the whole frame. Guests step out from indoors, cross the deck and slip into the water with no steps or bulky shapes to break the view.
The project reinforces the resort's idea: an authentic escape where wellness is a natural part of the service and the place remains the essence.

The challenge
A lakeside forest, the damp, cool climate of the north of Ireland, and a brand that sells nature without artifice.
The solution
A round spa sunk into the deck, its edge flush and facing Lough Erne.
The result
A hot-water spot that feels like part of the forest and stars in the resort's photos.

The project in questions
Where is Finn Lough?
In County Fermanagh (Northern Ireland), in a forest on the shores of Lough Erne, near Enniskillen. The resort combines accommodation in the heart of nature with a spa trail spread across forest cabins.
Why sink the spa into the deck?
Because the lake is the star. With the edge flush with the ground, the spa adds no bulk and guests see the water and the trees from inside. If you are considering a similar format, start with Aquavia's built-in spas.
What role does the spa play in the resort experience?
It is one of the warm moments of the wellness trail, with views of the lake, and one of the images that best sums up what the resort offers.
Do you do projects like this for other properties?
Yes. Through the Contract programme, hotels, resorts and architects get expert advice, technical documentation and trade terms. You can see more cases in spas for hotels and holiday properties.
Is your property
surrounded by nature?
