Cugó Gran Menorca
the Spa Home on the estate’s terrace
How the Spa Home fits onto the terraces of Cugó Gran Menorca, a hotel on a Menorcan country estate near Sant Climent: marès sandstone, dry-stone walls and a white spa with minimalist lines.

without breaking its architecture
In a Menorcan farmhouse, every new element has to respect the stone, the green shutters and the landscape.
Cugó Gran is a hotel set on a traditional Menorcan estate a few kilometres from Mahón, surrounded by countryside and dry-stone walls. For its terraces the choice was the Spa Home: a 4-seat spa with a white cabinet and straight lines, compact and unadorned, that sits alongside the marès façade instead of competing with it.
The project photos show the Home in different corners of the estate: next to the sun loungers in front of the house, beside the dry-stone wall at sunset, and on a balustraded terrace open to the fields. At 215 × 174 cm and 851 kg when full, it is an easy format to place on terraces and patios. At dusk, the cabinet’s LED lighting turns the spa into a point of light in the garden, a hospitality spa solution that adds a private experience to the stay.

The challenge
Bring wellbeing to the terraces of a traditional estate without altering the stone architecture or the rural landscape.
The solution
A 4-seat Spa Home with white cabinet, 20 water jets, 8 air jets, UV treatment and LED lighting.
The result
An open-air relaxation space for guests, part of the estate and at its best at sunset.

The project, in questions
Why was the Spa Home chosen for Cugó Gran?
For its white cabinet and simple lines, which respect the estate’s stone façade and shutters, and for its compact format, which is easy to place on the terraces.
How many spas does the hotel have?
The photos show the Home on several of the estate’s terraces. Each spa seats 4 and runs independently.
What load does the terrace need to carry?
The Spa Home weighs 851 kg when full, spread over 215 × 174 cm. With these figures, the hotel’s engineer can approve the terrace before installation.
