SDG. Iberspa actions carried out in 2020
All of Iberspa 's commitments and practices are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, approved by the UN in 2015 and which mark the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development. The idea behind these goals is to provide an opportunity for countries and their societies to embark on a new path to improve the lives of everyone, without leaving anyone behind.
Objective 6
Guarantee the availability of water and its sustainable management and sanitation for all. Iberspa achieves this objective thanks to its sustainability and environmental measures, such as the use of water or awareness-raising actions regarding its responsible use. The organization has set the following goals:
6.3 By 2030, improve water quality by reducing pollution,
eliminating dumping and minimizing the release of hazardous chemicals and materials, halving the proportion of untreated wastewater and significantly increasing safe recycling and reuse worldwide.
6.4 By 2030, substantially increase water-use efficiency across all sectors and ensure sustainable withdrawals and supply of freshwater to address water scarcity and substantially reduce the number of people suffering from water scarcity.
Objective 8
Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all. We try to achieve all of this through our different human capital management actions, ensuring an unbeatable work environment, with multiple communication channels, among many other things. Iberspa 's goals in this regard are the following:
8.3 Promote development-oriented policies that support productive activities, decent job creation, entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation, and encourage the formalization and growth of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, including through access to financial services.
8.8 Protect labour rights and promote a safe and secure working environment for all workers, including migrant workers, in particular migrant women and those in precarious employment.
Objective 9
Industry, infrastructure, innovation. Iberspa spares no effort and investment to improve sustainability and efficiency when carrying out its activities. It also ensures the modernization of control and security systems, as well as instruments for the comfort and safety of the professionals who make up Iberspa . The company's goals are:
9.4 By 2030, upgrade infrastructure and retrofit industries to make them sustainable, with greater resource-use efficiency and promoting the adoption of clean and environmentally sound technologies and industrial processes, with all countries taking action in accordance with their respective capabilities.
Goal 12
Guarantee sustainable consumption and production methods, thanks to Iberspa 's different measures in the use of clean technologies or its recycling strategies. The goals that the organization tries to meet with its actions are:
12.4 By 2020, achieve the environmentally sound management of chemicals and all wastes throughout their life cycle, in accordance with agreed international frameworks, and significantly reduce their release to air, water and land in order to minimize their adverse impacts on human health and the environment.
12.5 By 2030, substantially reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse.
12.6 Encourage companies, especially large companies and transnational corporations, to adopt sustainable practices and incorporate sustainability information into their reporting cycle.
Objective 13
Industry, infrastructure, innovation. Iberspa spares no effort and investment to improve sustainability and efficiency when carrying out its activities. It also ensures the modernization of control and security systems, as well as instruments for the comfort and safety of the professionals who make up Iberspa . The company's goals are:
13.2 Incorporate climate change measures into national policies, strategies and plans.
13.3 Enhance education, awareness-raising and human and institutional capacity on climate change mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction and early warning.
Objective 17
Revitalize the Global Alliance for Sustainable Development. To this end, Iberspa leads various agreements with different public and private institutions with the aim of contributing positively to the development of the local community and training on the proper use of resources, for example. What are the goals that Iberspa pursues with this?
17.7 Encourage and promote the creation of effective alliances in the public, public-private and civil society spheres, taking advantage of the experience and resource-raising strategies of the alliances.
